An UAV-Based Experimental Setup for Propagation Characterization in Urban Environment

چکیده

A measurement setup made of millimeter-wave and ultra wideband transceivers mounted on both a customized UAV ground station for full 3D wireless propagation analysis is described in this work. The developed system represents flexible solution the characterization channels especially urban propagation, as drone might be easily located almost anywhere from level to buildings rooftop beyond. double directional properties channel can achieved by rotating directive antennas at link ends. Other possible applications contexts include above outdoor-to-indoor penetration, line-of-sight non-line-of-sight transition, scattering air-to-ground UAV-assisted communications.
